School is almost over. What are you going to do? Have a party? What is a better place to have a party than a park, especially when it is for free. This summer Franklin Area Parents and Students United (FAPSU), Franklin Youth Initiative (FYI), and the Franklin Public Library is sponsoring a movie night. The movie is going to be La-La Land, and there will even be free popcorn given by Marcus Showtime Movie Theater. Bring your friends and come join FYI for a fun night of games and a movie! The movie is going to take place Friday June 16, which is one week after school is over. So if you are still here, then come bring your friends, and have some fun! Come play games like giant jenga at 7:30pm. The movie is going to start at 9pm.
Have you ever wondered what these different groups are? Franklin Area Parents and Students United is a cooperative community coalition that supports and empowers youth to make healthy choices, especially related to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs. Their mission is to prevent and reduce alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use by youth through implementing policies and changing the culture to create a healthy community.
Franklin Youth Initiative is a group of 7-12 grade students that promote an overall healthy lifestyle through prevention and intervention activities. They are passionate about tobacco prevention, substance abuse prevention, mental health, nutrition, and staying above the influence. They are Franklin youth changing lives for the good. Franklin Youth Initiative partners with many of the groups around the area to encourage a healthy lifestyle all around Franklin.
These groups work together to create activities that encourage the youth in the Franklin community to live healthy lifestyles and make positive choices. We hope that you will join us for a fun movie night!
