After 10 years of waiting for some sort of new Star Wars movie to come out, it has finally arrived! On December 18th, 2015, Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released. Fans of the franchise were skeptical of the movie, considering Disney was producing it. The users of many social media sites and satire newspapers began to make fun of the business, writing about how the movie would be packed with musicals and duets. Because of this, people believed the ticket sales would be horribly low, but this was not the case. Star Wars: The Force Awakens, racked in a whopping $247 million. Though this is a great outcome, we still don’t know if the watchers actually liked it, so we asked; How was Star Wars: The Force Awakens? Did you think Disney improved it or ruined it? These were their answers:
Freshman Brandon Dunn: “Yeah, I liked it. I think Disney kept it kinda the same.”
Sophomore Priyanka Iyer: “I saw it and I liked it. I don’t really think Disney ruined it, but I also never saw any of the other movies!
Unknown Junior: “I liked it, and I don’t really think Disney improved it nor did they ruin it. They did a good job continuing the series like nothing happened.”
Senior Chr Ramak: “Well, I went in with an unopened mind, because of all the overhype. However, it ended up actually being pretty entertaining. I think the overmerchandizing ruined some of it’s charisma but Star Wars is still a great franchise. ”
