Franklin football tackles their way to victory!

The Season so Far

The Franklin Football team has been very successful with 6 wins and 0 losses this season!  Every week, the team has crushed their new opponent.  In order to prepare for weekly games, the players undergo a rigorous practice schedule.  Monday through Wednesday they practice from 3:30-6:30pm and Thursday they practice from 3 to 5pm with games on Fridays. But, practice is not the only thing that the team will need to stay undefeated.  It’s also about being humble and the mental preparation.  In order to keep improving every week, Ben McCarthy, a senior on the team says, “What we have to do is just take each game one at a time and can’t look past any game”.  By taking each week one step at a time, the team can focus on putting everything they’ve got into that one game and not about worrying about what will happen in the next game.

The Season to Come

Being undefeated with 28 seniors gives the football team a huge head start on the road to state.  Ben McCarthy says, “We have a good chance to go to state, and it would not only mean a lot to me, but to this community.  They have put a lot of time and money into our program so it would be great to show how successful we have become”.  The hard work would pay off.   If we were to make it to state, the school would have a half day so that everyone could see the big game in Madison.  Band, poms, and the cheerleaders would all be able to perform at Camp Randall stadium.  But, the best reason to be excited about state is that Franklin would have another chance to win state and take home the trophy!

The team has only has three more games in the regular season.  Further down the road, they will have four games in the playoffs until state on November 20th.  Franklin football has high hopes for the remainder of the season.  Be sure to come to the weekly football games to support your Franklin Saber football team!
