Rake Rush Information:
It’s that time of year again: National Honor Society will be hosting a rake rush on Saturday October 24th, and we would like to get the word out to as many people as possible.
During the rake rush, NHS members will be driving around Franklin, raking the yard of every house they can reach. They will also be collecting canned goods from anyone whose yard they rake who is willing to donate so the rake rush will also double as a food drive.
In the weeks leading up to the rake rush, NHS will be spreading flyers around the school and at key locations in Franklin to spread the word to as many people as possible. We also ask that you inform your neighbors of this upcoming event and tell them to be ready with canned goods in the case that one of their yards is raked by NHS members.
Event scheduling in NHS has undergone a drastic change for the 2015-16 school year. Instead of having a plethora of small student-led groups come up with and organize events (which often resulted in confusion and low attendance), there will be one large event per quarter, and attendance to at least one of these events will be mandatory for all NHS members.
The rake rush will be NHS’s Q1 event. Our Q2 event will be the toy drive, which will take place during the weeks leading up to winter vacation.
If you have any ideas you would like to contribute to NHS, the Rake Rush, the Toy Drive, or would like more information, please contact Daniel Park, Carly Graverson, Zach Baudry, or Mr. Nettesheim through FPS gmail.
