The new and improved FHS is starting to come together with all the renovations going on and new additions to the building. But, on May 15, the Saber Stadium project was undertaken at the groundbreaking ceremony.
This ceremony signified the beginning of the long awaited Saber Stadium Project. One of the reasons why we started this project was because we needed a bigger soccer field. In order to do this, we needed to re-do the track. The track will also be bigger and will include 8 lanes going all the way around the track and an added 9th in the straight away. The previous track was at minimum standards with 6 lanes all the way around and needed to be improved. The new track will be made with a Fischer urethane spray. This exciting new addition to our school will help especially with PE and boy’s and girl’s track.
This project is something that the whole school will enjoy and should be done by the end of August 2014; just in time for football season. It will cost approximately $168,000.
The Saber Stadium project is well underway and will continue with construction throughout the summer.
