Construction at Franklin High School is continuing on schedule. Over the past couple of months, construction has focused on the auditorium, the area directly in the front of the school cafeteria which is still undergoing construction. Currently, the floors of the auditorium and the new office area are being constructed. However the good news is that the basic groundwork has been finished and it appears that the FHS auditorium should be functional by the next school year.
Another area of Franklin High School that will hopefully be in use during the 2014- 2015 school year is the area that is being added to the front of the school directly in front of the current school office. Once completed, this area will become the center location for the majority of the English and Social Studies classes. At the moment, this area has become the primary focus of the majority of construction occurring at Franklin High School and will continue to be for the next several months of school. The framework and general exterior of this building have been completed and construction workers are now working on the windows and additional interior features.
The majority of the more extreme construction measures are set to occur during this year’s spring break. During this time, the main front entrance will be renovated. Due to these construction procedures, the north entrance of the high school will function as the main entrance to the school for the remainder of the school year. The school’s main office is also expected to move to the balcony area above the school gym in approximately 3 weeks. These changes are set to occur around the same time several classrooms are expected to move to different locations throughout the school. Toward the end of the school year, construction is planned to begin taking place in the green room and classrooms nearby. Therefore, classes will be moving to other parts of the school to study, such as the library or any available classroom. Hopefully by the start of the 2014- 2015 school year, Franklin High School will be an even better and amazing school for its students.
